Manual battle or instant resolve?
You can auto-resolve a battle or take direct control of the individual units in your army. Fight manually when positioning around chokepoints, cover, or high ground could improve the result.
Manual control is also valuable when you need to use faction-specific battlefield abilities, build adjacency bonuses through careful movement, or make the most of superior numbers and strength.
